Pedal to the Rescue is a nonprofit bike journey across the U.S. led by Mikey Vansuilichem and Tommy Gehl II. Our mission is to raise $50,000 for the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and shine a spotlight on the wildfires that continue to impact lives and communities.
We’re starting in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and finishing strong in Los Angeles, California. Our estimated route is around 3,200 miles, and yes—it’s as epic as it sounds! Every donation goes directly to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. Your support helps fund advanced safety gear, life-saving technology, and firefighter wellness programs. We never touch the funds—your donation goes straight to the cause.
The 2025 wildfires in LA were devastating—destroying homes, displacing families, and putting heroic firefighters on the frontlines. We chose the LAFD Foundation because they provide essential gear and support that the city budget simply can’t cover.
